Dear Colleagues,
the next European Chapter Congress of the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA) will be held in Siena on 4 and 5 October 2024.
With the theme “The new frontiers of tailored approach and precision medicine for gastric/EGJ cancer”, it will be an important opportunity for scientific discussion and exchange of knowledge, developed over two intense days of activities.
The event will be characterized by the presence of Italian and European experts in gastro-oesophageal cancer treatment, including leading Members of the Italian Society of Surgical Oncology (SICO), Italian Gastric Cancer Research Group (GIRCG), and European Chapter Members of IGCA. In addition, renowned International Members of IGCA Board will be present.
The congress will focus on multimodal, tailored approach to gastric/EGJ cancer and personalized medicine, perspectives that have become essential pillars in the context of modern clinical practice. The active participation of specialists from different disciplines such as surgery, radiology, pathology, oncology, radiotherapy and gastroenterology, will contribute to the congress, being a fundamental opportunity for learning, exchange of opinions and experiences as well as innovative approaches.
A call for abstracts will be also organized. This will allow the selection of important scientific contributions through oral communications and poster presentations.
This event aims to make a significant contribution to the growth of knowledge by stimulating in-depth scientific debate and promoting the continuous development of research in the field of gastric/EGJ cancer. A total number of about 300-400 participants is expected.
Siena is also an ancient Tuscany city, with famous historical monuments as Piazza del Campo, the Cathedral (Duomo), Santa Maria della Scala, and Contrada museums, as well as excellent winelands.
